Yandex launches safe surfing tool
Yandex is now offering a free service aimed at making Internet surfing safe. Apart from blocking possibly dangerous websites, Yandex.DNS can restrict children's access to sites with adult content.

eBay now speaks Russian
eBay has launched its new Russia-language version, while shutting down the localised ebay.ru websites that had been working since 2010. eBay management say searching for items to buy is now made much easier, as everything has been translated: from the site's menus and search functions to item descriptions.

Online payments for public services expected to soar in Moscow
Moscow authorities expect that in 2013, there will be a breakthrough growth of online payments for services provided by public institutions. According to the city's Information Technology Department, a few thousand more nursery schools, music and sports schools and other similar public institutions will join the online payment system.

27% Russian city population use mobile Internet
Mobile Internet audience in Russia's larger cities increased by 35% in 2012 compared to the previous year, reaching 16.7 million people, or almost 27% of the cities' population.

Ozon reports 63% revenue rise
Five companies forming the Ozon holding have reported a combined revenue of 7.77 bn rubles (roughly $250 m) in 2012, up 63% from the previous year. Ozon's gross sales in 2012 was 15.27 bn rubles, up 73%.
