Internet ads were the fastest growing segment of Russian advertising market in 2011, according to data provided by The Association of Communication Agencies of Russia (ACAR). Companies spent about 41.8 billion rubles on contextual and media ads on the web, 56 percent bigger than the previous year.

Ozon.ru buys Sapato.ru webstore
Ozon.ru has purchased Sapato.ru, a popular online footwear store. Although the transaction amount has not been revealed, it is believed to be at least $ 18 million — the money that Fast Lane Vetures, who actually sold Sapato.ru, along with eVenture capital Partners (an Otto Group company) and Kinnevik, had invested in the service over the past eighteen months.
