Yandex to launch startup school

Russian Internet giant Yandex is launching Tolstoy Summer Camp, an experimental project aimed at helping new, interesting projects to emerge.

Starting on 1 July, the programme will last two months. Yandex has invited managers, developers and designers of any age to apply by the end of May. Applicants will have to pass a test related to their desired future line of work. Those who pass this stage, will be interviewed via Skype. The final participant list will be made public on 24 June.

In the course of two months, participants will get help to formulate thair startup business ideas, gather a working team, draft a business plan and create a prototype of their project, which they can later present to Russian and international investors, Yandex site explains.

Tolstoy Summer Camp will be a full-time school, where students will receive a scholarship from Yandex, who will also pay for participants' transfer to Moscow and hostel accommodation.
